    BBQ

    One of the fun things about being around a 3-year-old, my niece Zoe, is hearing her learn lots of words and say them for the first time.  After having some BBQ beef ribs from my uncle's ranch, Zoe was telling us about the sauce.  She was very clear in how she pronounced the name of the sauce--Bar-B-Cute sauce.  Cute, eh?  :]

    Where do you live?

    The other day, Anju, one of the little 3-year old girls at the nursery school asked me where I live.  I started to explain to her, but it took several tries to satisfy her.  I tried to tell her what train station I lived by, and what supermarket I lived by, but she just kept saying, 'where?'  Finally, I pointed in the direction of my apartment, and said, 'over there.'  She said, 'Oh, over there!' and went away satisfied!

    I thought you loved ...

    During lunch one day one little boy from the nursery school asked me, ‘Jill sensei, how come you know so many songs about Jesus?’  I answered, ‘Because I love Him.’  The little girl sitting by me said, ‘Wait a minute.  I thought you just said you loved American cherries?!'

    What does Aunt Jill say?

    My niece Zoe knows all the animal sounds, and needed something new.  So my sister Heidi taught her to the following new ones: 

    Heidi:  “What does mommy say?”          Zoe:  “Love you.”

    Heidi:  “What does daddy say?”             Zoe: “Tickle, tickle!”

    Jill:      “What does Aunt Jill say?”           Zoe:     “Let’s go shopping!”
